POINTS AND INTERNATIONAL TEAMS RACE

International Teams:
International teams for both surfski and
Vaa will comprise:
Three open men’s paddlers
One open lady paddler
One under-20 male paddler
One over-40 male paddler
Day 1 Points:
The results of the top two 2-person
relay teams from each country count towards the overall team points for the
World Cup weekend.
The individual times for both 7km legs
count for the individual points for the Day 1 placings.
Thus, apart from the two top
international teams, you can race the relay with any other paddler you choose.
You do not have to paddle with someone specifically within your age
or gender category, as it is only your personal time that counts.
Day 2 Points:
The Day 2 points and placings will be
based directly on your personal time for the course.
World Cup Points:
Total points awarded as per:
1. Day 1 2-person Relay Points (top two
teams per country).
2. Day 2 Individual Points for
individual paddlers from international team. Only the top four paddlers’ points
count per country, and may be any mix of ages and gender.
B. Individual World Cup Placings:
The race times for each individual
paddler for both 7km legs on Day 1, are additive to the paddlers race time for
Day 2 to determine the individual placings for the Surfski World Cup. The major
pool of prize money and trophies will be awarded on the basis of these
placings.
